Meditation Myths:
LIE:
Meditation means quieting your mind.
TRUTH:
Meditation isn't about stopping our thoughts or controlling them, its focus is to become aware of our thoughts and act an as observer, not attaching to them or judging them.
LIE:
Meditation is difficult.
TRUTH:
Meditation is as simple as focusing on the breath or saying a mantra. The 3 minute method I teach simplifies meditation to make it accessible and practical for everyone.
LIE:
It takes years to see the benefits and effects of meditation.
TRUTH:
Kundalini meditation is for the householder, the mom on the go, the business owner, and student. The benefits are immediate and long term, from more energy to more peace, awareness, focus, and gratitude.
LIE:
I don't have enough time to meditate.
TRUTH:
I think we covered this one - give me 3 minutes, I'll give you results.
LIE:
Meditation is a religious practice.
TRUTH:
While meditation has roots in Hinduism and Buddhism, many forms of meditation have nothin to do with religion. In the Kundalini tradition, we focus on knowing our true selves, and going inward to unlock our healing potential. No belief in a god required.
LIE:
But I can't sit still.
TRUTH:
Good news! Meditation can be practiced sitting, standing, walking, or lying down. In Kundalini, we move our arms, hands, and body often, and if we are in a seated posture, you can still scratch an itch or stretch your legs out! You do not have to be a statue.
LIE:
I don't know if I'm doing it right.
TRUTH:
That's why you have me! I will give you the EXACT STEPS to complete each meditation in a video tutorial, so there is no guessing :)
